VBAC Birth with Acupuncture

I just wanted to share my VBAC birth with Acupuncture story. I had a c-section with my first child and was attempting a VBAC with the help of my doula for my second pregnancy. When I reached 39 weeks, my doula recommended that I see Amelia for acupuncture

During the acupuncture treatment, I had lots of contractions and the baby was moving. I felt very optimistic that I'd go into labor that night. Well, the contractions stopped completely, but I had the best night of sleep in weeks.

The next day, Amelia reassured me that my body knew what it was doing. I was exhausted and that night of sleep really helped. For the next few days, I had a few intense nights of contractions, but didn't go into labor.

Four days after my acupuncture treatment, I was in Amelia's office for my next treatment, when my contractions started coming 3 minutes apart. We cancelled the treatment and I went to the hospital. Again, the labor didn't progress.

Then a couple of days later I did go into labor. It was a long and challenging labor, but I delivered him in a successful VBAC birth, which was an incredible and wonderful experience.

Our baby was 8 lbs even and 20.5 inches. He is a wonderful, mellow baby and we feel very blessed to have him in our family. There is a picture attached.

Thank you so very much for the care you provided in the last weeks of my pregnancy.

Many Thanks,
Megan
