Pregnant in 2 months with suspected endometriosis

by Dina
(South Kingstown, RI )

I found Amelia's website when looking for alternatives to surgery for Endometriosis. I had been having irregular periods and menstrual pain for over 8 years but was pushing off the laproscopic surgery until I was sure I had exhausted all other avenues and I was ready to have a baby.

I had tried acupuncture in the past, which helped with the pain and to regulate my periods. I also stopped taking all forms of birth control (pills), which was recommended by my acupuncturist at that time.

I believed that in eight years, I would get pregnant naturally. After stopping the hormones, I had hoped mother nature would take its course when the time was right. I even drastically changed my diet to include no caffeine, virtually no alchohol, and established healthier eating habits. Mostly a diet filled with organic fresh fruits and veggies. Not a pure vegetarian diet though. I still enjoy meat and poultry in moderation. I had also consulted with the Woman to Woman's clinic in Maine and started on their program for endometriosis and hormone imbalance.

Everything I was learning about diet and nutrition and the toxic hormones I had bombarded my system with for so many years was starting to make perfect sense. I knew I was on the right path. But when I turned 38 last summer, I realized that I was going to need additional support. I decided to give it 6 more months. And if I was not pregnant by the New Year than I would schedule the surgery. I consulted with a local nutritionist that summer and met Amelia late in the fall of that same year.

Amelia was comprehensive, knowledgeable, and compassionate about her work. She demonstrated a nice balance between traditional medical technology and alternative Chinese acupuncture methods. Amelia became the missing link that tied it all together for me. I didn't feel as though I had wasted the past eight years, but rather prepared my body well for the next step.

In less than 2 months of working with Amelia, I got pregnant naturally. Funny thing is that my husband and I conceived right around the New Year and found out we were pregnant at my pre-surgery consult that winter. Nothing like cutting it close :-)

I am now 30 weeks along (baby girl)...due at the end of September. My husband and I couldn't be happier. And while, I did a lot of the prep work first, I do not believe I would be pregnant without the dedication and support of Amelia Hirota. She is an amazing practitioner and healer. And I feel so blessed that I found her.

Hi Amelia, I have also been diagnosed with low ovarian reserve with an AMH test. My question is since I can't conceive naturally, whether or not acupuncture will help in my situation? Will it help with a better response to medications thereby producing more eggs with potentially good egg quality to have a healthy child? What do you think of acupuncture and low ovarian reserve? Thank you for your assistance, Shelley

In my opinion acupuncture is better than Boston IVF. I started seeing Amelia Hirota at the Center of Balance after I had gone through 6 IVF cycles with 3 transfers. My last cycle ended with a miscarriage at 6 weeks. Learn why Samantha feels that acupuncture worked better than Boston IVF for her.

Dear Amelia, My name is Heather and I've been seeing an acupuncturist that I really like here in San Diego. I recently completed a comprehensive female hormone panel saliva test and it showed that I have high testosterone levels. I was told that I have too much sugar in my diet with possible PCOS. What do you think about high testosterone levels and PCOS?

Dear Amelia, I have uterine fibroids and I had a myomectomy when I was 27. My goal in to get pregnant and shrink the fibroids without undergoing another surgery. Please let me know what you think my coarse of action should be. Learn the answer to Oneka's question, "can acupuncture shrink uterine fibroids?" and ask your own questions too.
