Pregnant after 2 cycles of treatment with Amelia

by Ira
(Maryland)

I am very delighted to recommend Amelia for fertility treatments. She is a very compassionate, knowledgeable and skillful fertility acupuncturist. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for about 7 months until we found out from an HSG test that I had hydrosalpinx on my right tube and intra-uterine polyps in my uterus.

That was July and I was 35. The doctor and RN from the fertility facility told me that the tube had to be removed and then we could move forward with IUI or IVF. Although I went to a fertility clinic to obtain fertility tests, I was not happy with the idea of IUI or IVF. I never felt comfortable with the idea of having synthetic hormones injected into my body.

I found Amelia’s website and decided to consult with her. I started working with her through phone and emails. Amelia convinced me that I could still get pregnant naturally even with only one tube. She suggested me to have tubal surgery at the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal in North Carolina. She also thought that it was important for me to have the polyps in my uterus removed before starting acupuncture treatment. I followed her suggestion.

After the surgeries were done in Nov, the following month I started the acupuncture treatments with Amelia. I flew to Rhode Island once a month to receive acupuncture treatments. Amelia is really thorough in diagnosing a patient.

She will look at your diet , your menstrual pattern, your exercise habit, your tongue, your pulses, many other aspects. During my first visit, she spent a long time talking to me, asking questions and giving me great advice, which I really appreciated. She also prescribed me a few herbs, and suggested a healthy diet and meditation. I found meditation worked really well in relaxing my mind and keeping me focused in the efforts of nourishing my body.

I flew again to Rhode Island for the 2nd time in January to receive another treatment. By the end of month, my husband and I found out that we were pregnant!!! We are very happy! I am so thankful and feel so blessed to find a very compassionate and knowledgeable acupuncturist like Amelia. Thank you, Amelia..!

Hi Amelia, I have also been diagnosed with low ovarian reserve with an AMH test. My question is since I can't conceive naturally, whether or not acupuncture will help in my situation? Will it help with a better response to medications thereby producing more eggs with potentially good egg quality to have a healthy child? What do you think of acupuncture and low ovarian reserve? Thank you for your assistance, Shelley

In my opinion acupuncture is better than Boston IVF. I started seeing Amelia Hirota at the Center of Balance after I had gone through 6 IVF cycles with 3 transfers. My last cycle ended with a miscarriage at 6 weeks. Learn why Samantha feels that acupuncture worked better than Boston IVF for her.

Dear Amelia, My name is Heather and I've been seeing an acupuncturist that I really like here in San Diego. I recently completed a comprehensive female hormone panel saliva test and it showed that I have high testosterone levels. I was told that I have too much sugar in my diet with possible PCOS. What do you think about high testosterone levels and PCOS?

Dear Amelia, I have uterine fibroids and I had a myomectomy when I was 27. My goal in to get pregnant and shrink the fibroids without undergoing another surgery. Please let me know what you think my coarse of action should be. Learn the answer to Oneka's question, "can acupuncture shrink uterine fibroids?" and ask your own questions too.
