High FSH Level

by Geetha
(UK)

Dear Amelia,
I'm concerned about my high FSH level. I am 37 years old and my husband is 38 years. We have one daughter, who is 7 years old. We have been trying for our second baby for nearly 3 years.

My FSH level is 9. We tried one IVF cycle, but unfortunately it was not successful. I would like to know how acupunture will help us. Kindly reply.

Sincerely,
Geetha

High FSH Level
by: Amelia Hirota

Hi Geetha,
An FSH level of 9 is not high. This is a completely normal level and does not indicate low ovarian reserve. From the little bit of information that I have, you are not a candidate for IVF. IVF is for women with blocked tubes or in the case of severely low sperm quality.

Acupuncture, herbs and the principles of traditional Chinese medicine may help you by balancing your hormones and deeply nourishing your body. I would recommend looking at my educational videos, so that you can learn various ways to diagnose your hormonal imbalances and properly nourish your body.

It seems to me that you would be helped by fully understanding where your body stands in terms of fertility. An FSH of 9 is no reason to do IVF. It would be in your best interest to chart your cycle, learn how to find a good acupuncturist, understand the various diagnostic tests and learn more about evaluating male fertility.

If you would like to respond. I'd be interested to hear about your partner's sperm count, motility and morphology. Also, how many eggs were retrieved in your IVF cycle and what percentage were fertilized?

Chinese Herbs for High FSH
by: Anonymous

Hi, I am 39 years old with a FSH level of 62 and I took the Chinese herbs treatment. I got pregnant in 2 months. I highly recommend Chinese herbs. Thank God I have a beautiful healthy baby boy. Try it! It does work!

Hi Amelia, I have also been diagnosed with low ovarian reserve with an AMH test. My question is since I can't conceive naturally, whether or not acupuncture will help in my situation? Will it help with a better response to medications thereby producing more eggs with potentially good egg quality to have a healthy child? What do you think of acupuncture and low ovarian reserve? Thank you for your assistance, Shelley

In my opinion acupuncture is better than Boston IVF. I started seeing Amelia Hirota at the Center of Balance after I had gone through 6 IVF cycles with 3 transfers. My last cycle ended with a miscarriage at 6 weeks. Learn why Samantha feels that acupuncture worked better than Boston IVF for her.

Dear Amelia, My name is Heather and I've been seeing an acupuncturist that I really like here in San Diego. I recently completed a comprehensive female hormone panel saliva test and it showed that I have high testosterone levels. I was told that I have too much sugar in my diet with possible PCOS. What do you think about high testosterone levels and PCOS?

Dear Amelia, I have uterine fibroids and I had a myomectomy when I was 27. My goal in to get pregnant and shrink the fibroids without undergoing another surgery. Please let me know what you think my coarse of action should be. Learn the answer to Oneka's question, "can acupuncture shrink uterine fibroids?" and ask your own questions too.
