Happily Pregnant with Donor Eggs
My story of becoming happily pregnant with donor eggs started when my husband and I met and married "later" in life. I was 37 and he was 40. Knowing we both wanted a family and that time was not on my side, we started trying for children right away. After 6 months of no luck I started working with my doctor; we tried Clomid, cleaning out my tubes, and other medical type procedures. When this didn't work I went to a local accupuncturist who had been recommended to me, but who didn't specialize in fertility.
Now, a year and a half into trying with no success, my OBGYN suggested I meet with Amelia Hirota and meet with a Fertility Specialist.
My fertility doctor started us on a typical protocol for IUI/IVF right away. Amelia had hoped to have more time to work on my stressed out body but time was not something I felt I had. So she made the best of the situation and worked with me through acupuncture and supplements.
Slowly and steadily my body responded positively to all she and I were doing. It was very exciting. Unfortunately, I didn't respond as well to the fertility treatments as my eggs had run their course and were no longer viable.
After along deliberation, my husband and I decided to try IVF using an egg donor.
Amelia kept working with me and supporting me every step of the way. By the time we were ready for the IVF, my body had come such a long, long way to being ready. Against the odds, I was pregnant on my first try!
I can honestly say that had Amelia not come into my life, I would not be pregnant now. I had been very tough on my body over the years with work and stress. It was through dietary changes, supplements and acupuncture (all overseen by Amelia) that I was able to be in a place where I could achieve and maintain a healthy pregnancy.
I am excited as we await the birth of our first child and am already planning on a course of action with Amelia for expanding our family further. I cannot express my gratitude for her help and highly recommend anyone having any fertility questions or issues to see her FIRST and not as a last resort as I did.
