I have have been specializing in treating infertility since 2006. Unlike many acupuncturists, I don't just put needles in you and tell you to come back next week. I have a comprehensive diagnostic and clinical program that figures out why you're having difficulty getting pregnant and then targets those issues with specific supplement protocols and acupuncture to improve fertility. If it is possible for you to conceive, my program will address your specific issues and support a healthy pregnancy.
Many women call the office because they've heard that acupuncture improves fertility, they're in the middle of the IVF process, they've just had a failed IVF procedure or they're looking for alternatives to IVF. I can help in each of these situations. My specialty is fertility and women's health, so I not only do acupuncture for fertility, but also look at all of the areas in your life that you can change to support your fertility. I work with diet, lifestyle, acupuncture, herbs, supplements, diagnostic testing and TCM to create a holistic program that is personalized to your specific issues.
Amelia Hirota, has practiced since 2001 in Hawaii and Rhode Island in the United States. She is board certified (NCCAOM in the U.S.) in both acupuncture and Chinese herbs. She specializes in the integrative treatment of infertility, Women's Health, and endocrine disorders. Her passion revolves around empowering women to be informed about their health options and inspiring them to take charge of their health and the health of their families.
Amelia's been developing her fertility program for over 15 years. When she got started, she followed a strict TCM protocol, which included primarily acupuncture for fertility and Chinese herbs. Over the years, Amelia's delved into the function of the overall endocrine system and this has given her a broader perspective about how fertility is impacted by the endocrine system, including the adrenals, thyroid, hypothalamus and pituitary glands. The ovaries don't start malfunctioning on their own and therefore fertility treatments need a multi prong approach that addresses the overall endocrine system, in order to be effective.
