Hi Amelia,
I would like to share my story of using acupuncture to induce labor. I am doing very well, thank you. I've been meaning to reply to your previous email and I would like to do so in more detail- but here is just a brief summary of how it all went down. The whole experience unfolded beautifully.
The midwives themselves agree it was a most successful birth as it was harmonious and quick. Monday night, after receiving the inducing acupuncture treatment from you, I started having contractions - around 3:30 am - gradually throughout the morning.
As I went through my morning routine, they became stronger. Noon time came around and I asked the midwife if I needed to come in for the appointment we had scheduled. She thought it best that I do so- so off I went with heavy contractions and all. There, she saw I was 6 cm dilated and told me to rush back home to have the baby.
My mother-in-law was driving like a maniac and we made it back home. My apartment was filled with family. I was wishing to steer clear of any outside stimulation, so I found solace in my neighbor's bathroom. It was there, that I had the baby, two hours later (4:12 pm).
Midwives arrived just in the nick of time- with my good friend and boyfriend there supporting me. The delivery was a very happy memory- if that gives you any idea of how it was. I was very relaxed and every contraction came like clockwork- just as nature intended- thank you so much.
Oh, by the way, the baby came greeting the world at 8.8 lbs, 20 1/2" long.
Best,
Sydney
