Hi Amelia,
I just turned 36. I was diagnosed with premature ovarian insufficiency (also referred to as "failure" but I can't stand that term). I had a regular cycle for the first 32 years of my life and it abruptly stopped. This coincided with an enormous amount of stress.
Once this happened I got a diagnosis a few months later and in came anxiety, depression and more stress trying to face the loss of biological children. I decided against HRT and have made changes in my lifestyle. Months ago, after going gluten free I had a short period of bleeding and my body felt like it used to...all symptoms were gone!
I am looking for an acupuncturist to help support me preparing my body but need someone who has as much hope and believes the possibility that I do; that my body can find balance and welcome back a cycle. Do you think this is possible for women experiencing POI to get their reproductive system to kick back in?
Thanks!
Noelle
